My first modem was a 2400/9600 kbs modem that was built into my Packard Bell Legend 22cd computer. I would update as soon as the next higher speed was available from 14000 to 56000, Eventually upgraded to DSL which was a premium but lightning fast. As working on technical support and other call center industries, I only encountered a few users that were still using dial-up to access the internet.
