My first practical email address domain, the-college.iwctx.edu, and  about a year later it became uiw.edu when it transitioned from a college to a university.

You can visit the WayBackMachine to visit snapshots of my Alma Mater's website, but unfortunately they do have a copy of it of the the-college.iwctx.edu. The one that is available advises visitors to visit www.uiw.edu.

Here's a good way to experience the time before internet search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing, it is The Internet Yellow Pages. It was published in 1994 and was a guide to resources available at the time.  You could purchase a copy at any bookstore or your favorite computer software/hardware store of the era such a Egghead Software. It is available for purchase through Amazon for letting your "fingers do the walking". As with progress, this book has followed the Yellow Pages phone directory.

FrontPage was discontinued by Microsoft but it was one of the first application I used to create a web page. Here is a screenshot of the application (sample shot, not a site I built)

It was a great "WYSIWYG" (What You See Is What You Get) editor for building my first site hosted by EarthLink which provided hosting a personal website for each subscriber. This was also the time I was introduced to FileZilla to transfer the files to my provider.
